Web Success Process

…as compared to those who you know who also happen to not know how to make things happen on the web.

Those who are serious about their presence on the web didn’t go about the endeavor by taking it lightly. Those who are serious know what I know, the value and ROI that is derived from the web can often surpass more traditional modes of promotion.

The audiences and your reach are not only larger, but more diverse and in this day and age, spot on with where the majority of people are — online.

Your looking to position yourself, not only ahead of the competition, but as the one with the most market share who is considered the source.

If you know this already, then you’re already a genius. If you’re learning this for the first time…boom, you’re a genius.

My disclaimer: I don’t have all the answers. Not many people do when it comes to those of us who work on the web. Some will purport to know it all, but I’ve seen their gaffs too. Why am I telling you this when I hope the end result of your visit is to hire me? Because I’m honest and I know better. I don’t have all the answers, but I have a ton of skill and more personal resources than the average guy/gal web person.

Most anything you do is based on a process; from cooking a meal to pumping gas to asking your boss for a raise (and he/she should give you one once you repeat how web success is found by a process). Without processes, we’re all just shooting in the dark..

As for the web, most people (even those who are on all of the time) are either intimidated by how these interweb things work or think that it’s some kind of magic. And, when you work with me, you’ll see that neither have to be true. But, you’ll get to see how, just like anything else, the process for getting things to work and work well are based on the same processes you use every day.

Here’s How Web Success Works, You Genius..You

Discovery. The very first step in taking a concept into strategy mode and on to development is collaborative discovery. Here all questions are asked and re-asked and notes are taken. Questions such as: “What is it?” “What is the goal?” “Who is the audience?” “How will they find us?” “How is this different/better than the competition?” “Who is the competition?”

During this phase, all of the non-design or non-hands-on details are worked out and exhausted (in a good way).

Strategy. This planning phase outlines the specific modes of delivery and engagement that will be used (that best fits your audience and type of message). It outlines how you’ll go about reaching them, engaging them and how to best get them to conversion stage (sometimes a conversion is a sale, an email address, a share or like on Facebook, etc). The strategy will also outline how you’ll measure your successes, giving you ample ammo for improvements. When you work with me, you’ll quickly learn what I know: nothing on the web is a guarantee. For example, any SEO (search engine optimization) company or person who guarantees rankings is full of it–they don’t work for Google…the ranking algorithm might change tomorrow.

But, through collaborative discovery (your knowledge of your business and customers and my knowledge of the web), we can get pretty darn close if not spot on as to how to deliver the information (and the right information).

Implement. Here is where I take all the prep work and put it to good use on the web; delivering a product and services based on observation, discussion and know-how. We set your project ‘loose’ and keep a watchful eye.

Maintain. Since we’re monitoring the progress using statistics, we can observe user behavior and conversions and make tweaks where needed. This is especially key of we’re implementing SEO. Search engine optimization requires constant, consistent massaging to get you to rank well and pull in all of that traffic that is searching the web for whatever your product or service is.

That’s it (in a summarized nutshell). That’s your lesson for finding success on the web. Of course, it is highly summarized, but still — you are now way more educated that when you started to read this page…by lightyears; thus making you more of a genius than you were 5 minutes ago.
