This post on SEOmoz, in my opinion, is a must-have for business owners to read. Why? Because what most caught my eye was the graphic/list of the many inbound channels that businesses have to use a the core of branding and growing your company and traffic.
While the post has so much more to offer, the inbound list of tactics most caught my eye. Here’s why: I think many business/site owners get caught up in the mindset that there’s organic traffic (from organic results) and paid traffic (PPC and banner ads) only.
In actuality, there are so many inbound tactics, including:
- White papers
- Social media
- Word of mouth
- Comment marketing
- & more
UPDATE: Another channel to consider relies on using marketing assets that you create for other aspects of your business. For example, if you create Keynote or Powerpoitn presentations for your company, you can upload them to sites like Slide Share. Your presentations are then available to be found during search and can be shared in a viral fashion. The post does a lot more for driving home the many tactics that go beyond standard SEO and PPC that many Internet marketing sites/service offerings don’t go too deep into when making their pitch. I wonder, then, if many SEO service-oriented sites really do only focus on on-page and linking opportunities. Thoughts? Sound off in the comments.
