Let’s face it, online marketers focus a lot on web analytics. Like, a lot. There is, however, other sets of data to dive into and processes there to optimize for better marketing outcomes. Joanna Lord posted an excellent article on SEOmoz, “The Importance of Marketing Analytics.”
If you’ve read the article, you can skip to the bottom of this post to take the poll or just to see the results.
The Importance of Marketing Analytics
Joanna defines marketing analytics as: “… the measurement and optimization of your marketing activities. Rather than focusing only on your site’s performance like you do with web analytics, you focus on how your marketing efforts are performing, and adjust them accordingly…”
Good stuff. Important stuff. Don’t sleep on this.
Marketing Analytics is something I’d like to explore more in 2013 and the years to come. How about you? If not for you and your own marketing company, but as an added value to offer your clients.
My strong suggestion is you check the article out and then take the poll (because I’m nosy and want to know what you think!):
